Q. How long does it take for my remittance to be delivered?
A. NYBR delivers within 24 business hours to key cities and towns in the Philippines. Please check out NYBR’s delivery schedule for your hometown or city.
Q. What is the exchange rate?
A. NYBR’s exchange rate for the day is found on the upper right-hand corner of this website. A detailed fee and exchange rate schedule is found on the service fees page. Rates are subject to change without prior notice.
Q. How do we go about sending through NYBR?
A. There are four (4) ways to send your remittance through NYBR:
1) by phone, using your credit card or EZ Padala; 2) by mail, using a money order; 3) by faxing your deposit or proof of wire; 4) by visiting an authorized NYBR representative in your area.
Q. Will NYBR call and inform the beneficiaries about funds that are to be delivered to them?
A. NYBR will call the beneficiary to set up a time to deliver the funds. For faster and more efficient delivery, NYBR requires the remitter to submit the beneficiary’s phone number at the time of the transaction.
Q. What is the NYBP DEBIT CARD?
A. NYBP Debit Card is a SAFE, SECURE and SPEEDY way to send funds to your beneficiary. It is a reloadable cash card that may be used to withdraw funds from over 9,000 ATMs all over the Philippines. The card may also be used to pay for purchases from millions of VISA-affiliated establishments worldwide. The NYBP Debit Card is PIN-Protected. Only the cardholder may withdraw funds from the card. One does not have to open an account. No maintaining balance on the card is needed. The NYBP Debit Card may hold as much amount as the cardholder wants. Funds are credited in 15 minutes to the beneficiary’s NYBP Debit Card 24/7, even on holidays.
Q. How do you get the NYBP Debit Card for your beneficiary?
A. You can apply for the NYBP Debit Card from any NYBR or Trans-Fast Remittance authorized agent. You can also call NYBR direct and give us the details of your beneficiary. We will need the complete name, address, telephone number of the beneficiary. The NYBP office in Ortigas Center, Pasig City will call the beneficiary and have them complete the application form. The cards will be delivered by courier to the beneficiary’s address. It takes 2 days to deliver GENERIC (no name) NYBP Debit Cards or 10 days for a PERSONALIZED NYBP Debit card. Once the beneficiary receives the card, funds may be sent to the card in 15 minutes!
Q. What is SMART Money?
A. SMART Money is a reloadable cash card that is accepted in over 200,000 establishments and ATM machines in the Philippines. The card bears the MasterCard logo, so for as long as funds are available in the card, it can be used to pay for purchases at department stores, supermarkets, restaurants, gas stations, drug stores, boutiques and many more. The maximum amount a SMART Money card can carry is $1,900 (peso equivalent only).
Q. How does SMART Money work?
A. Initially, NYBR delivers the SMART Money Card to the beneficiary. The SMART Money card is personalized with the beneficiary’s name. The next time the remitter sends money to the beneficiary, funds may be loaded into the beneficiary’s SMART Money Card. The beneficiary is informed by telephone that the card had just been reloaded and that it can be used to withdraw cash or pay for purchases immediately. If you want the SMART Money option, you must specify to the NYBR agent that you want funds delivered via SMART Money.
Q. What is Banco de Oro (BDO) OTC Pick UP?
A. Banco de Oro, ranked one of the top ten banks in the Philippines, is a full-service bank. It offers a range of banking services, one of which is the Over The Counter (OTC) Pickup. This allows your beneficiary to pick up funds in US Dollars or Pesos from any BDO counter of any BDO bank branch or SM (ShoeMart) Services Counter. No bank account is needed and funds are ready for pick-up in 24 hours. BDO bank branches have extended banking hours with most branches open till 7 PM, 7 days a week. If you want your beneficiary to pick up funds from any BDO or SM store nationwide, you must specify to the NYBR agent that you want funds delivered via BDO Pick-up.
Q. What is the BDO Cash Card?
A. BDO Cash cards are reloadable debit cards that a beneficiary may use to pay for purchases and services from SM Stores and from stores with EPS system. The BDO Cash Card may also be used to withdraw from any Megalink / Expressnet ATM machines. Free withdrawal from Banco de Oro ATM’s. If you want the BDO Cash Card option, you must specify to the NYBR agent that you want funds delivered via BDO Cash Card. Only NYBR-issued BDO Cash cards may be credited to by NYBR. The cash card number must be supplied at the time of the transaction.
Q. What is EZ-PADALA?
A. EZ-Padala is an efficient and convenient way to send your payment to NYBR. With EZ PAdala you can call NYBR whenever you wish to send to your loved ones back home. Funds will be electronically transferred from your assigned bank to NYBR’s account. NYBR takes care of all wire costs. EZ-Padala is a very flexible service. You can change your payment instructions or even cancel the service at any time. To avail of this, complete the form and mail back to NYBR.
TERMS and CONDITIONS for EZ-Padala
NYBR must receive the EZ PADALA application PLUS a copy of the applicant’s voided check. The voided check must show the applicant’s name and address. Your first *remittance sent on EZPadala is FREE.
Schedule of delivery. Orders must be called in by 3:00 pm (Mon – Sun) for same day processing:
▪ $1 – $500 – Funds are forwarded to the Philippines the same day you call NYBR.
▪ $501- $1,000 – Funds are forwarded to the Philippines 1 business day after NYBR initiates transfer.
▪ $1,001 and above – Funds are forwarded to the Philippines 3 business days after NYBR initiates transfer.
Insufficient Funds will be charged a penalty of $35.
